By alphabravo786 ·
Hi.. I am using Windows 2003 server and a LAN.. I am also using DSL modeml
configured on windows 2003 server... I have 2 LAN cards on my server one is
set on my LAN and second is set on my DSL... Now I want to add a Wireless
access point to share internet. My Dlink Wireless access point has the ip
address of same IP class configured on my LAN card
range & my dsl modem is configured on range. Now I want to add a D-Link Access Point for laptops to use internet without using lan cables. Please can any one tell me that how can I configure my D-link wireless access point to share internet wirelessly... Adding more I am using Winproxy
as well for sharing the internet locally... My Windows 2003 server has dhcp

Best Regards

Read the user manual from the device

You won't need winproxy because the router will be the proxy, and you can't have both the router and your server acting as DHCP servers, so decide on which one you want to use.

router as dhcp?

dont set the router as DHCP, use the server. if you use the router it can take people up to ten minutes to login to the network :)

you need to set the wireless access point up on a static IP which is on the same IP range of your network! IE my network is on ( so in my case i would set it up on something like and reserve that IP address on your DHCP server so it cant be issued to anyone else.

now if you plug that access point into your network, you need to cable it into a network point or switch....

this device should now be accessible on the network :)
