      Shared Computer Toolkit

      by hfrench ·

      In reply to Hunter’s Blog

The toolkit has been out for a while now, but I am just starting to see uptake and print articles about it. The July 2006 TechNet magazine will feature an article on the toolkit. This looks like something that would be very useful in the MCSD.

Riley Delivers the Goods on ISA 2007

      by hfrench ·

      In reply to Hunter’s Blog

In typical Steve Riley style, he described ISA 2006 as having made him “excited again.” It takes a truly interesting person to be excited by a firewall, filtering, and Internet protection package. This afternoon in the SEC 304 “What’s new in ISA 2006?” breakout Steve described some of the new features users can expect. Here […]

Planning a Move to Exchange 2007?

      by hfrench ·

      In reply to Hunter’s Blog

Ready for 64-bit computing? You’d better be if you are planning to run Exchange 2007 because there will be no released 32-bit version. I understand that this is a predictive release by Microsoft and is probably right on target (by the release date 64-bit servers will be the rule rather than the exception). It is […]

      In reply to Hunter’s Blog

Amdist all the complaints about the TechED bag, the buses, and the dirth of t-shirts I didnt want to let it slip that I believe the wireless network to be far superior to any previous TechED. I have had consistently strong signals, even in breakout session rooms, and good speed. Thanks for the hard work.

Things are starting to wind down here at TechED. Most of the vendors have given away their t-shirts and other swag, people seem to be walking slower, and fatigue is beginning to set in. I had some great conversations with two people on the bus yesterday regarding K-12 education’s use of technology in the […]

The High Priest of Clustering – Rodney Fournier

Today’s SVR317 “The Best-of-the-Best Practices for Microsoft Clustering and a Few You Havent Heard of – But Should” session was a great insight into the stuggles and successes of clustering in the Windows environment. My takeaway from this session was that clustering rests on configuration, configuration, and configuration. Beginning with an exhortation to “talk […]
