I can not see the new RAM

By dguttas ·
I have a P-5 100 from Gateway. I have NT Server running on it and I recently upgraded the RAM from 80 to 128 (32*4) but at bootup I still see 80 and in the systems properties I see only 80 megs what is happening. I am using 32 meg SIMMS. 72 pin non parity.

I think you are having the same problem I was having with some HP Vectras.
What I did was find the manual for the PC and also the specs for the memory.
Some third party Ram has to be configured a certain way to be seen correctly once NT boots. Trythe website for Gateway to get Model specific outlines for Ram installation.
Note: If you can see the full amount of Ram in the BIOS but not in NT you have the wrong Ram configuration for that Mother Board.
Good Luck!
