This article has upset me horribly....

by KaryDavis In reply to I can't believe this

...seriously, I'm having issues concentrating on my job today because of this.

My fiance pointed out I may be overreacting, and he may be right, but my hackles are high just thinking about this large, grown, ugly-@$$ man grabbing a little girl and slapping her 4-5 times...

This story has really struck a nerve with me on so many levels....

level 1. This jerk-wad actually thinks he has the right to hit someone's little girl...

level 2. No one intervened after the first slap, the little one had to endure 3-4 more because no adult was cognizant enought to take this @$$wipe down after the initial grab...

level 3. That this guy lived to actually be arrested...

level 4. um...once I get over my anger I may be able to articulate this one...

If it makes you feel any better...

...once he goes to prison, he's going to reap the rewards of karma. With lots, and LOTS of interest.

The bad thing is that the taxpayers will end up flipping the bill for the dentures (both top and bottom) and frequent trips to a proctologist.

I'm sure once I calm down....

... that knowledge will bring me some comfort.

I'm a mother of 3, grandmother of 6...and whenever I see someone in the store with a crying child...either tantrum throwing or just whiney...I always flash that parent an understanding smile.

Gosh I hope I get over this soon.. .I gots stuff to do!!!

Hey, I dont have kids

by The Scummy One In reply to I'm sure once I calm down ...

however, I have spent a good portion of my life around them -- usually a bit older, but quite a few under 4 yrs old.

Personally, I do understand when the tantrums start, it aint easy sometimes to control them -- not like there is a mute switch (without pepper spray ( :0 ) -- especially with all of the laws in place for protecting them.
On the other hand, even though I dont have kids myself, I like being around them and have a protectional instinct that kicks in.

Pepper Sauce, Not Pepper Spray

by NotSoChiGuy In reply to Hey, I dont have kids

Preferably, one of those boutique hot sauces you find in places like Nawlins. "Ring of Fire" is a personal fave.

Open goes kid's mouth to cry.
Quick reach into diaper bag produces bottle.
Drip drip onto tongue goes the sauce.
Wait 5 seconds.
Whip out bottle/sippy cup of milk/water, and you have silence.

Why resort to hitting when Mother Nature (in the form of the habanero) produces a natural remedy for tantrums??

You'd feed a kid habanero??????

Damn. My mom used to use tobasco. That's also a good thing to use to teach a kid not to suck their thumb.

When they are asleep, put a tiny dab on their thumb. They'll learn in their sleep not to do that. That's what my mom had to do with my sister rather than pull her thumb out of her mouth every 10 minutes.

not for me -- from what

by The Scummy One In reply to HOLY CRAP!

my uncle tells of me, they tried and I got a taste for hot and spicy things.
By the time I was 5 or 6 (he couldnt remember) he said I would 'drink a bottle' of tobasco
