Dvorak was a target?

by CharlieSpencer In reply to PCMag.com has been dealin ...

You're kidding. I can't believe a mild-mannered pundit like John could every say anything that would upset anyone

I've decided I don't care what sort of 'reputation' I receive from voting metrics. Those already here have formed an opinion of me over the years; and I'm not interested in the opinions of those who would base them solely on votes alone, be they long-time members or grass-green newbies.

mechanic reputations are for the tumbleweeds and the fair weather friends.
The rest of us know who we are, even without the letter branded into us.

I met John once

by JamesRL In reply to Dvorak was a target?

And you know what they say about first impressions.

We were there to pitch our new software, something many of you know and have used I'm sure. His boss was there. He was late, and more than fashionably so, despite the fact he was travelling and we met him in his hotel(so no traffic jam excuses). He didn't listen to what we had to say, he insisted on telling us what he had to say on another unrelated topic.

I was not impressed.

I've heard that from others

by NickNielsen In reply to I met John once

You always know what he's thinking, even when you'd rather not.

I used to read him faithfully back in the 90s. Now, not so much. I'm much less interested in that kind of punditry these days.

When you fail to reinvent for the new. Not saying whether it's you or he.
