    IBM ThinkPad Scroll Feature

    Locked

    by jared.chase ·

    Hello All:

I’m having difficulty activating the scroll function on my think pad. It’s the blue button in the center of the other two buttons (Left click & right click).

I recently had my computer re-built – all new software and it seems to not work. Anybody know how I can turn this key back to the active state, and assign it the scroll feature?

    All help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    JC

      Hi JC,
Choose from ThinkPad Advantage menu, the UltrNav Assistant.
Then you will see at the lef bottom of the screen the options of the central button (I don’t know how exactly the text of the option is because I’ve a Thinkpad T43 in Spanich). The different modes that you can select are: Scroll, glass magnifying, nothing of boths.
      I hope this helps you.
      Best Regards,
      Claudio

      May need touchpad drivers

Many features of laptops other than basic sound, video, modem, LAN, require drivers such as the touchpad and power management. I have done some thinkpads and find several special features working only with the proper software installed. If you don’t have the original disks, it will be tedious to download the many files needed.
