IE7 cerificate error message

By alexr ·
Lately I upgraded clients to IE7 and started to get this message trying to reach https sites :

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate"

I got option to proceed but it's just annoying.
Does anybody knows how to avoid this message?

Trusted sites list

by Mr.Wiz In reply to IE7 cerificate error mess ...

I think you can add them to the trusted sites list in IE. Other than that, the websites need a new security certificate that meets MS's new specs.

If you get that error chances are you are on a site that isn't what it claims to be. My advise, don't download or submit any personal info to sites where that error pops up.

There's no "special MS approved" certificate that sites need, bit IE7 does check the address against the sites cert

Install the certificate

by mstry9 In reply to I've already tryed it

I realize this is a very old post. Some other person may run accross it as I have by chance searching for something else. Our company uses Cisco VPN and Avocent KVM for remote server logon. The certificate for KVM reports as untrusted because we issued it which conflicts with the certificate name. My work around, (olny because I know it's valid, was to add the https site to trusted and Install the certificate to the Global Trusted Root Certificate Store.
Hope this helps others.

My company VPN uses SSL ( VPN over SSL ) but I always get the invalid security certificat message. How do you get the certifacte into in file so that you can import it into the computers Trusted Certificate Store?
