Two a customer gets connected and is unable to view webpages in any web browser. I am open to any suggestions to this problem.

Internet Explorer...No page is displayed

Hi

For the cannot browse in IE, but can in other browsers: I would try deleting temp internet files, cookies & history (from windows explorer) then using the repair option (control panel - add/remove programs -find "Microsoft IE 5 & internet tools" click on it & then click add/remove then choose repair option.

for the other; you can do one of the following: globally enable dns in network or replace both winsock.dll & wsock32.dll or I would replace the tcp/ip stack by removing all instances of tcp/ip from the network stack in the control panel. then deleting the following files (vip.386 & vtcp.386) and then adding tcp/ip back in the control panel. (add - protocol - add & choose Microsoft on the left & tcp/ip on the right)

for 1&2:Have you tried to re-install the browser with the latest verion?

The 2nd client can the ping a web address?
if not it might be some thing with the DNS
can the 2nd client ping an IP?

what condition are the machines in ,i mean does theuser install and remove alot of programs?or play around with settings and folders? Is the machine performance well below what it should be? if yes there may be other files corrupt in the actual OS.
Try
Removing TCP/IP(restart)
Remove Dial up networking(restart)
Re install TCP (restart)
Reinstall DUN (restart)
all the restarts are not realy needed but i have found it often works better that way

Also if they are running Win95a or b , have them install the MSDUN1.3 upgrade

It is the latest version of the Internet Browser. I did try reinstalling the Browser and downloading it again. Yes, so far on all of the instances I have been able to ping. The machines are all in different conditions because this is a problem a lotof people are having. I havent had this problem before. The reason I know of this problem is because I am an Internet Technician and I get a lot of calls about this problem. I have tried reinstalling TCP/IP and DUN.
