Internet Sharing

By Gmap ·
I am attempting to setup a wireless network at one of my colleagues homes. I have no problems connecting the two machines however when I attempt to setup his company laptop (on our company domain) for internet sharing the home network wizard is not available, further when I attempt to >run>netsetup it tells me I do not have sufficient rights even when logged on as the domain admin.
Any ideas?????

You should not need to run the wizard on the work system to access the internet. If it has access to the network, the internet should be available already. The work system may be trying to use a proxy server which isnt available, so I would look at the internet connection settings. Uncheck the proxy server and see if it can auto-detect the IE settings, or leave everything unchecked.

domain admins is not in local admins group on laptop probably. Log is as local admin and add domain admins to administrators group. Then log back in as domain admin. =)

Also, Check to see if they hid the network wizard with a policy. They may have hid the wizard locally on the computer so that users can't change any network settings.
Check for any policies that may hide that.
