I am having a little trouble using the IPconfig feature on my laptop. I open the cmd line and type IPconfig and it does nothing. Just returns down to the next line and says C;\documents and settings\"account name". I have replaced the IPconfgi.exe file, thinking it may have been corrupt but no luck. Any ideas?

What happens when

by The Scummy One In reply to IPconfig

you type in
ipconfig /all

Does it work?
You may need to reset your IP -- command line
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

did that fix the problem?

My Guess

by rkuhn In reply to IPconfig

Is that your NIC is either disabled or uninstalled and therefore ipconfig can't return any results.

Go into your device manager and make sure it is still configured correctly and go into your network connections and make sure it isn't disabled.

would return an error

by jdclyde In reply to My Guess

if there wasn't a valid NIC, it would say so.

If it just comes back to the command prompt, it sounds like it isn't finding the command to run in the first place.

If it werent finding the command

by The Scummy One In reply to would return an error

it would error
something has become corrupt (most likely), but it is not
with the file itself cause it was replaced already.
