Is it just me, or are the media . . . . . .

By maxwell edison ·
..... falling all over themselves covering and sensationalizing Chelsea Clinton's wedding much more than then they did Jenna Bush's wedding? It seems pretty obvious to me that they are.

I hate it when the media play favorites. And it's SO obvious.

I also hate it when the Republicans are tagged as the party of the rich, but yet it seems more Democrats are actually the rich. And they flaunt it with impunity.

I also hate it when Americans are treated like Royalty: Hollywood types, musical types - and the Clintons.

Okay, there's my soapbox rant of the day.

And stepping off said soapbox for something a little lighter:

If you want to kill six hours on a Saturday night, watch the Clint Eastwood Dollars Trilogy Westerns. While watching them last night, I recalled another time I watched all three in a row - at a drive-in theater circa 1967-68, riding there in the back of a neighbor's pick-up truck.

Has sold out a long time ago. They've been bought and Paid for. There is no longer News Coverage, it's now just Entertainment.

I might get in trouble for this.

The MEDIA [ mainstream media specifically, like TV, Radio, Newspapers ] are all incompetent twits.
They seem to forget that their JOB is to REPORT the FACTS. NOT to tell us what to think about it.
We have minds of our own, we can figure out what the facts means to us all on our own.

Let the "opinion pieces" be where they belong, on a social media website.

and you would be telling a lie to yourself if you think any tv network anywhere doesn't do this. even the BBC includes opinions on the stories, which is trying to tell you what to think about the piece. Though the BBC's news coverage has the least of it that I can see.

Edit to add:

And as long as the media insists on propagating the mistaken definition of Hacker they created, they will remain incompetent.
to use the news industry's own term, using "Hacker" to describe a high tech criminal only proves the reporter doing so is a HACK.
Since they just proved they are mentally incompetent by misusing the term.

And The Economist are both smitten with it full-on. They're just a little better written and its a little harder to detect.

But, it's there.

There is no escape but to be a ******* in your own right.

there is an escape

do what I did and don't have a TV.

as long as it's "edutainment" and opinion pieces, there is nothing worth watching.

I don't have one, either

I jettisoned DirectTV half a year ago. This screen is it. And, thankfully, it is interactive. I get to be a ******* with a bullhorn.

I sent the CBC a comment, with the url for the post.

after all, the CBC's motto, not just the news, but telling you what to think about it.
makes them one of the biggest screwups in the mainstream media.

now I'm off to the cbc's ombudsman to get his attention to the screwup.

I would agree with EVERYTHING you said, but . . . . .
