Issue with MS Excel 2007/Powepoint 2007

By prabhu.kabali ·

I have 2 questions

1. Whenever I use Ctrl+B [For making bold] in excel, excel gets hangs up for few minutes & then it returns to the normal mode. If you type any text & select from the tool bars for making bold/italic, etc, it does not hang/acts normally, however if control key is used for these purpose, it hangs up.
Lot of time is getting wasted when working with excel on this.

2. In MS Powerpoint, whenever we prepare any presentation or open a 2003 ppt, text alignment does not come properly, need to edit all the text & if change the font to verdana, it comes properly. This takes more efforts. This happens only in Powerpoint 2007 & not in earlier versions.

Can you please suggest a solution for the above 2 issues?

Use 2003 till M$ work out the problems with 2007 if they can

What you are asking about are known bugs in 2007 and currently have no solutions.

As 2007 is a major departure from earlier versions of Office it isn't even close to being backward compatible and has Formating Issues when attempting to convert files from the older format.

Of course you could use Open Office instead of M$ Office as it does everything that M$ Office can and actually converts properly. It's available free from here
