India was a majority English speaking nation, and is the main language there. Was I misinformed?

Other than that, yes, I agree with your statement. And on a more personal note, I am a high school dropout (circumstances). I know I mis-type often enough, and I dont always spell things right, but I am far from the largest offenders here....
at least I think I am....

A new level of outsourcing

by JPLconsultant In reply to IT field

"I wnt to knw what jobs are available"

Are you asking about jobs in the US? In case you didn't know, the subject of US jobs being outsourced to India (or any other country) is a sore subject here. But we understand business outsourcing is a reality.

However, when college students are taking their own initiative to outsource from the US, that takes the game to a whole new level.

If I were to really express what I think about the entire H1-B visa madness and outsourcing in general, I doubt I'd remain a member here very long. I am more than willing to discuss it in private though, but not on a public forum where I'll most likely be attacked for my comments and insensitive views.

I don't know if I can post this...

by JPLconsultant In reply to No comment!

I don't know how sensitive the moderators of this board are, but I've got a link to a video where some United States employment lawyers discuss H1-B visas.

"Our goal is clearly not to find a qualified U.S. worker ... our objective is to get this person a green card,"

I'd PM you the link, but you have PM disabled (as do i). You have more experience with the mods here. You think it's safe to post?

That has already been posted

well what was posted was a video of a meeting where they were discussing how/why to disqualify US workers to try to force the government to allow more H1B's.

I doubt you would get the boot to post it again. Unless it was a different video, where someone gets really nasty.

Hey JPL

Not advised. The level of sensitivity is quite a lot higher now than when that link was first posted- and buried deep in a thread.

You're a good guy and we'd like to keep you. The best advice I can give you is that if you think that it MIGHT be questionable, it probably is.

I understand. I figured better to ask than be booted.

Really appreciate you playing with the team. Any of the old timers can let you know if you are walking dangerous ground.

Sometimes the old place gets sensitive to certain content. Here lately, I think that there is also a sensitivity that we aren't running folks off. TR needs the page views and while we all agree that posting some content is NEVER acceptable, there are times that communicating that message gets a bit harsh. Some folks are into scorched earth. I tend to favor a gentler hand. The right thing is likely to sit between the two.

Keep coming back. You will soon learn all our weird ways...
