Keyboard/mouse not working in Windows

By E Chill ·
I am running Win2000 Pro and the other day, suddenly, my keyboard and mouse stopped
working. They work in the boot-up mode (tested because I tried to repair the Win installation) and also
work under a CD-run version of Linux. So I think it must be something with Windows.
The problem is I can't get either to work so I can't get in and change anything not even in VGA or safe mode.
Yes, I tried other keyboards and mice too. They are both PS/2 connected.

This is most likely by a program that initiated KB and mouse services that started automatically when Windows starts.

The only logical way to disable the service(s) is from Repair Console.

Use LISTSVC command and see if there is any such service (There must be!!) and disable it by using DISABLE command.
