Languange Pack in Windows 7 Pro

By Michael Jay ·
In Windows 7 Professional it seems that you cannot install language packs, it seems that you must be running Ultimate or Enterprise to install the language packs.

In searching around I have found some information as to how you can hack it in but without the pc with me I cannot try it till later, just wondering if anyone has actually installed the language pack in Win 7 Pro, or knows for sure that it can or cannot be done.

BTW, mine is a corporate PC as well, but I felt proficient enough to take care of any issues I may have ran into, since it's just used by me. It ran fine for me, but when it came to the prez, I didn't want to have any danger of glitches at all. I've never had any...but I wanted to not have my first one on his system. So, I can understand your hesitancy to do it on a work PC. For me it was my only option (I could not swing approval for Ultimate).

Yes Luke, the upgrade is the way to go then just add the language pack of choice in this case Japanese, it is quick and easy only 100 bucks for the upgrade.

But having to do things by the book it worked out that a total rebuild was the answer I got, so that is the way we went.

Side note, my customer had to return to Japan and got stuck in another location waiting for the earthquake and tsunami to subside before going home. Last word I got was that her family was safe, but what a nasty situation over there, the whole story is still unfolding.

Selecting Yours as the answer, even though we did not use Vistalizator or the upgrade path as you also suggested.

If you have friends/family in Japan I hope they are safe.

Thanks for your input.
