How to install software in fedora?

by techrepublic In reply to linux

Install software using the package manager GUI, Yum Extender (it's a GUI for Yum) for older versions and PackageKit for newer versions.

Using the package manager GUI, install a media player (select one you like or several and give them a trial run) and also codecs to view videos (e.g. win32 codecs, libxvid).

For the sound problem, as root, run alsaconf to configure the ALSA sound system then check the sound mixer levels using alsamixer. Install alsaconf and alsamixer if needed.

Hope this help, I have difficulty understanding what you wrote.
