FTPROOT

by gshollingsworth In reply to Lock down FTP servers

The article states to place the FTPROOT on a separate hard drive. Would a separate partition be as effective?

In either case, another recommendation to follow is to not mount the FTPROOT as a folder, especially under the system root structure. This is an option for any drive (partition or physical drive) beginning with Windows 2000. Do not use that option. That would just open you back up to directory transversal vulnerability.
