First things first.. Remove the card and see if you can boot your machine up, either to win95 or in safe mode. If you can get into one of those two, go through and remove anything that was installed for that card. If not, then you get to play with all the fun stuff that everyone else has mentioned.

All the other answers look good for software removal. I would actully remover the sound card from the slot and try to reboot. You might have an IRQ conflict, which prevents you from booting in safe mode.

do one by one step in the order
1. remove the sound card
2.boot machine to the safe mode.
3. if there you can see the sound card driver in the device manager remove it. other wise go to %rootwindows%\inf directory and find the inf file of your sound card and delete it
4. shut down and fix the card back and boot the system.
5. while booting check if any irq conflict. you can see in the text mode of initial booting period. if so change the slot of the card and try again .
good luck !

hi, this the best way to solve this problem: bypass the operation using shift+f5 first u must delete the system.dat and user.dat but this file are hidden just use the attribe command this 2 file is located in windows directory just type dir.dat /s to view the file. and then unhide this file and delete it.

Your computer was working fine prior to the install? My guess is that during the physical install something got jarred loose. Check (reseat all cards, memory, cables, jumpers) connections and see if that doesn't solve the problem.
