Man, today sure feels like a Monday......

By jdclyde ·
Here it is, Jan 2nd (Friday), but it sure feels like a Monday after having the last few daze off.

Now, before you feel to sorry for me, I will be going home at noon because the place is a grave yard! There are only three other people here today, and two are leaving anytime now. I have a few projects that need cleaning up after, so I decided I would hang around a bit longer than they are.

How is everyone else's year starting?

Build up your reputation.

The Helpdesk boys and girl approach me on their knees if they want my help.

I had figured today would end up like this

which is why I decided to work it. B-)

Short weeks make it so easy.

And because no one else is around, I can actually accompish what I want to do.

Been repairing/replacing a lot of older dying systems lately, and so the skeletons have been piling up in my office, so putting a tag on their toes and sending them off to the morgue....

Five down, three more to go.

I'm not back until Monday

When it will no doubt feel like Monday as well as be one.

Probably a whole day spent trying to figure out what I was doing two weeks ago....

You too?

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to I'm not back until Monday

I kid our 'problem' employees about having to spend half the day every Monday to retrain them because they've had some time off. But, I'll probably spend the other half trying to remember what I was doing and where I left off before the holidays.

Ack.

by boxfiddler Moderator In reply to You too?

Spent half my day going through my email, reviewing the files I was working on to determine where I left off and what remained to finish.

Spent the other half updating and backing up company computers. Which means I could keep half an eye on TR.

How was the new years? Was it still a "dry" holiday? That working out well for you?

Me, only a few drinks here or there. The fact that my boys have still NEVER seen me drunk is a source of pride for me. B-)

It was a dry holiday season.

by OnTheRopes In reply to A great way to start the ...

Trust me, I felt like drinking but 'things' aren't going the best and booze and problems mixed together just create more trouble. I'm REAL glad that I didn't drink. I've no plans to start drinking again anytime soon either. For me, it's just better that way.

Always need the right reason

and problems is the dumbest reason to drink. Attaboy for not trying to "escape".

I just hope that my boys are able to follow my lead and not fall for the stupid peer pressure that says it is cool to brag about how much you can drink or how drunk you were.

I have shared many stories from growing up where it was MUCH more fun to be the sober one that got to sit back and laugh at the dumb drunks.... B-)
