mapquest/googlemaps-> internet disconnects

By rphang ·
I am using Windows XP sp2, Internet explorer 7, and internet browsing is ok until I access mapquest or google maps - then, the browser locks up, with no directions & no maps. The internet connection is then completely lost. I have to reboot my router when this happens. Does anyone know of this problem and a solution? Thanks.

IE 7 problem

by rphang In reply to Update Router Firmware

thanks for the advice about the firmware - I checked, but I already had the most up-to-date firmware. The problem with mapquest only occurred when I "upgraded" to IE7. I uninstalled IE7 and now it works perfectly with IE6.

Google Maps locks up (WinXP)

by forspoons In reply to mapquest/googlemaps-> int ...

I've just developed this same issue. It happens whether using IE or Firefox and is new in the last week. I've rerun McAfee & SpyBot to clear viruses an spyware. Are there any solutions short of re-installing WinXP? Will this even help?
