      Choose Tools -> Options…

      Select the Mail Delivery tab

Check the box “Send messages immediately when connected”

      Hope this helps.

I am running Outlook 2000 in Corporate Workgroup Mode, not Internet Mail Only mode. There is no “Mail Delivery Tab” in the Options dialog box.

Here are two articles dealing with your problem. Check to see if you’re working off line, other wise, the first URL deals with troubleshooting the CW version. (there are no spaces in the address).

If you are on-line to the Exchange server, your send button is supposed to immediately send. It is possible that your client is set up for remote use.

      To check this, click Tools/Services/Delivery(tab).
In the lower window, you should see:Microsoft Exchange Transport
      Microsoft Exchange Remote Transport

Make sure that the first one is highlighted, and click OK.

      Good luck.

By the way, mail can pile up in your outbox even if it is already sent. This happens if you are receiving mail addressed to other than your own email address, and you forward it. If the emails in the outbox are shown in italics, they have not beensent. If they are not, they have been sent and are just sitting there.

If you have multiple Internet service accounts in the same profile, and you havechosen to send mail on an account that is not the defaultoutgoing service,Outlook supports multiple Internet services for e-mail,you can specify only one as the default delivery account.
To use the default delivery account to send e-mail
      1) Choose Send And Receive from the Tools menu
2)Select the account at the bottom of the list. This account is default,if you restart Outlook after setting it as default
To specify a different account as the e-mail delivery account
1)Choose Services from the Tools menu
2)Click on the Delivery tab, select the account that you want to be the default delivery account
3)Click the up arrow to the right and move the selected account to the top of the list, and then click OK.
      Close and restart Outlook

You could try setting the auto send and receive to 1 minute intervals. This would assure frequent sending, but may be more usable in a longer duration (5 minutes) setting.

Set already, but e-mail doesn’t go out, but it does pick up any inbound e-mail.

The solution turned out to be removing all e-mail services and reinstalling them. While there may be an easier way, such as when running in Internet Mail Only mode, this worked.
