    Locked

    by ntnetworkman ·

I have two Windows ADS 2003is a.com the other is b.com

A and B are physical connect vpn there not trusted yet (there two physical domains)

I was wondering how I can move user from domain a to b but at the same time still having access to domain a for the short term

I assume the first step is to establish two way trust

Then use admt tool but I do not know iof that enough for if that still allows then access to the old domain and also I need to migrate there email from A to B but I believe ADMT will good enough to do that

    Please help and confirm

    Thanks

Are you migrating to a new server?

If your plan is to migrate to the new server and you simply want to move over the users, why not use the Microsoft AD Migration tool.

As I recall (I haven’t used the tool in over a year) the ADMT tool will allow you to COPY the users and groups to the new domain. The problem is that access may ask them for the username and password for each side.

The easiest way is to migrate everything over and leave the trust in place.

You are on the right track tho.
