Mothers Day, How will you spend it?

By jdclyde ·
Remember people, Mom is the reason you are here right now.

How will you say thanks to that special person?
A card from Hallmark?
A phone call from where ever you are?

I have a card and a 9 am Tee time. Will be taking Mom out for 18 to start the day off right. (with cart of course) Going to have pick up a single rose too (can't carry a dozen around on the golf course!).

My boys will be with their female perental unit, and I have already taken them out to get her a card that they will give her first thing in the morning.

What will you be doing?

Soon to be EX-wife

by jdclyde In reply to actually

As cronicled in the Divorce discussion.

After a five year affair, she has moved out.

I paid for a card that my boys picked out on their own. She is still their mother so they are giving this to her.

She is not my mother, thus I will not be giving her anything.

After checking in with the masses her at TR, I came to the conclusion that this fullfils all of my fatherly duties to the fullest. There was also talk about giving them money to take her out for a brunch, but need to come up with money to send boys to band came (that she has informed me she will not be able to help with). My lawyer has the rest of my money.

Can your mom clean my house when she is done with yours? Yeah, that got a chuckle out of me. Hope they don't discontinue that brand of perfume your your going to be up the creek without a paddle!

Have a great day and a better weekend.

A whole day

by j.lupo In reply to Mothers Day, How will you ...

I have arranged to spend the day with my Mom. I am taking her to breakfast and then spending the day as her "chaeuffer (sp?)" I will take her wherever she wants to go and on a shopping spree which she loves and I hate.

Basically the day is hers and I will be with her. I am hoping my siblings will join us. That is all she ever really wants. She has said so.

mother's day

As being a mother myself (and a single parent) I'll be getting nothing as my son is 4 and can't get a job. My mom told me she wanted a floor lamp that was on sale at her favorite stoor, so I got her that. She'll get a card from my son. and then we are all going to Busch Gardens amusement park. ta-da. the end.

I invite her down for the weekend

by neilb@uk In reply to Mothers Day, How will you ...

And let her clean my apartment from top to toe. She loves it! can you...mumble...grease! stove...mumble...unironed shirt...mumble...good grief, filthy...

She's down for the week it's cleaner than it's ever been. All I have to do in return is look grateful and drive her around. I find the line "Why would I clean that? You can't see it!" spurs her on to greater efforts.

I'm not allowed to use my computer, though, except when she's watching her soaps.

ps. I'm not really a slob - just a bloke in his own place doesn't have the same perspective on "dirt" as a woman.

Don't I know it

by jdclyde In reply to I invite her down for the ...

Mom came in and cleaned up before I could do my house renovations.

Doing a major purge and her point was very valid. As she has no sentamental attachment to any of the CRAP that has accumulated it is much easier for her to throw the stuff away than it is for me to.

Aren't moms great?

My payment is to ALLOW her to lavish my boys with love and attention. I just may allow her to borrow them for a while soon!

(the normal charge will be waived because of the labor recently provided. Or in the least give her a good discount!)

..does that happen? I've never had my mother show up and clean my house for me!

I must be doing something wrong.

'Course, my father is another story: "Hmm...this needs fixed. Where are your tools?" He invariably finds something to fix that I didn't know was broken.
