    Msbatch.inf Parameters

    Using Win95 and automating setup with msbatch.inf file. Will not accept the productID with OEM numbers. I still have to manually type the OEM in. What do I need to have in the msbatch.inf to accept the OEM # from the Certificate of Authenticity? TheWin95 Resource Kit says it can be done??
    Need exact details.

      When you use MSBATCH.INF to automate your Windows 95 setup, it is possible
      to
      specify the product ID for your site under the [Setup] section. The product
      ID
      is printed on the back of the CD and it has this format : xxx-xxxxxxx.
      When this string is in MSBATCH.INF the setup process won’t stop to ask you
      to
      type in the product ID.

      When you have an OEM version of Windows 95 (This can be seen on the CD, it
      says
      : “For distribution only with a new PC”) it has a product ID which has this
      format : xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx.

      When you enter a OEM product ID in MSBATCH.INF, setup will stop and displays
      a
      message that the Product ID is incorrect. You will have to enter it again.
      When
      you enter the product ID (evenwhen this is the same product ID), setup
      continues.

      This is by design and cannot be changed.

      In Msbatch.inf under [setup] section add ProductKey=”your oem key”

      I ran into this problem as well. I was able to get around it by creating a second .inf file with the following entry:

      [SETUP]
      ProductType=1

      This should be the only entry in the .inf file. This .inf file must be named msbatch.inf. Your .inffile with all of your personal settings can be called anything. I use csetup.inf (since I am installing the ‘C’ version of 95. My command line looks like this:
      “setup /is /ID /IW csetup.inf” Under the setup section of the csetup.inf, there must be an entry of ‘Express=1’ for this to work.
      Make sure to place the ‘msbatch.inf’ with the new setting in your install directory. What this does is in the system properties window where the OEM is usually listed will appear as all x’s
      The /ID skips the minimum disk space check and the /IW bypasses the license agreement (this switch is case sensitive). the /is simply bypasses the initial scandisk.
