Muslim-Bashing Republicans

By Bucky Kaufman (MCSD) ·
TechRepublic member Garion11 says that "right now today, in this day and age, its Islam, radical islam that is the problem".

This kind of Muslim-bashing has become common-place among Bush's more rabid followers. They rarely say it publicly, but rather they cower under the cover of internet anonymity.

Blaming Islam for all of America's problems serves no purpose, and runs counter to traditional American values of Religious 2Tolerance.

Personally, I think militant religious nuts in general are the cause of our terrorist problems. Once anyone crosses the line from "Praise God" to "Kill for God" - they become the enemy - Christian, Jew, Muslim, Wiccan - whatever.

What do you think? Do you agree with the religious intolerance expressed by Garion11 - that Islam is "THE" problem in the world?

Is this *really* the way Bush's followers feel about their Muslim brothers and sisters?

What I want to know is...

by ProtiusX In reply to This itiot must be trying ...

When did being a Christian automatically make me a card carrying member of the KKK? I guess I?ll have to break it gently to all my black friends - All my black Christian friends that is. Maybe I should ask Bucky if Black Christians where hoods too?

Strange Fruit?

by BFilmFan In reply to Republicans - Good Neighb ...

What they are growing oranges at LBJ's Library? Or has Ross Perot developed some new sinister business plan to combine lemons and limes on a single tree and have Bahamians take over as spokespeople for the resultant product?

Would you care to clarify that comment?

Billi Holliday

by Bucky Kaufman (MCSD) In reply to Strange Fruit?

It's a soul song. Back before the Democrats forced the Civil Rights bill down the Republicans throats - southern gentlemen from places like Falwell's Lynchburg used to go around hanging "strange fruit" from trees - for God and country.

How can you possibly be a B Film Fan and never heard of this song? It's in like every third indy production.

Southern trees bear a strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swingin' in the Southern breeze
Strange fruit hangin' from the poplar trees

Pastoral scene of the gallant South
The bulgin' eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolias sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burnin' flesh

Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather
For the wind to suck
For the sun to rot
For the tree to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

There is in fact a line between "Praise God" and "Kill for God"

by Aldanatech In reply to Muslim-Bashing Republican ...

Like you said Bucky, there is in fact a line between "Praise God" and "Kill for God". The kind of terrorism we face today is based on those that cross that line, not on those who follow a religion of any sort. The administration should emphasize more on this. Because before we can ever defeat terrorism, we must first understand it.

Bucky has been ABDUCTED BY ALIENS!!!!!

by Packet Spoofer In reply to Muslim-Bashing Republican ...

Check out this link....

I believe that judging from the out of this worldly nature of buckys recent rants, the only plausible explanation is that he has actually found aliens, and in doing so, was abducted by them, and he is actually now speaking on their behalf...
So fellow techrepublic is the time to BREAK OUT THE TINFOIL HATS!!!!!!!!!

While reading your comments, I was thinking of a line from Independence Day. In the scene where the news commentator asked 2 men who knew the alcoholic pilot, one of them commented, "They did things to him.....Sexual things."
