Need Help With Microsoft Office 2007 Product Key

By flynn241 ·
I was recently bought a new laptop with Microsoft Office 2007 already installed. Being a student I use Word all the time but I need the 25 digit product key. I have checked every corner of the box i was given the laptop in and checked every page of the leaflets that came with it but I cant find the 25 digit key. Where online can i just buy this key, ive spent ages searching on microsoft but all they can seem to offer me is a new package...i just want the key and I'm willing to pay! Any help would be recieved with much thanks!

Office 2007 Product Key

You say it's already installed on the system? If so, Windows has that key cached. There is a sweet little program called ProduKey that can ferret it out for you. It's free.

Why do you need the product key?

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to Need Help With Microsoft ...

What makes you think you need a key?

Is the software telling you that it is about to expire and you need to provide an authentic product key? If so, what came pre-installed is a trial version of the software. You'll need to purchase the full product (which comes with a key) in order to continue to use it.

To determin what you have installed (trial vs full program), start Word then click Help/About MS Word. It will tell you what you have installed on that computer.

A 60 Day Trial Version of Office 2007 comes installed on all new NB's

by OH Smeg In reply to Need Help With Microsoft ...

From the Big Makers at least. Because this is a Fully Functioning Trial Copy you have not paid for it so you do not have the right to use it beyond the 60 Day limit.

If you want to use Office 2007 after the Trial Period has expired you need to buy a copy of it and load it onto the system.

If you load a older version onto this System you may find that some files like Word Files and Excel Files are not readable by Office 2003 or older Versions of Office. This is because M$ changed the File Format that Office 2007 uses. If you load Office 2003 or older you need to install the Converted for older Office applications to read the Office 2007 Files. It's available here along with M$ explanation on the difference between the 2 different File Systems.

If you want to use Open Office or some other Office Product you need to contact the Maker for a Conversion Utility or open your Existing Office 2007 Files on another computer running Office 2007 and save them in the older format that is commonly used by all Office Applications.
