Need name of local or network Admin

By weeks_ck ·
I work @ a company that outsources IT support. I'm in a lab that in the past few years has rotated staff several times and now I'm in charge of an area with about 40 pcs running XP and a few running NT. I want to make some local policy changes that require admin rights and because we are outsourcing it would be cost prohibitive to have IT come configure me as an admin on each machine. What I want to do is go to each machine and look up a previous administrator (other than IT) so that I can call them (I will be able to look up their phone by their logon) and have them come and make me an administrator. Finally, the question. How do I (not and administrator) look up the name of a local or network administrator for each machine?

sounds like a good effort if all the admins logged on in the same manner and format...which is unlikely....I suggest that your company/organization either hire a full time on staff IT/IS person or never connect to the internet and use only p2p on the internal with each operator as the admin on their own machine...because what you have now is a mess with no easy way out and if you don't fix it now it will only get don't say what kind of lab but regulations are going to play a part in it somehow with liability factors to consider as well...are you going to be the fall guy when the inspector shows up????
