After running the Networking Wizard disk, you have to specify an IP address in your windows 98 machine. It must be in the same class with your other Computers on the network (i.e. 192.168.0.xxx) where the xxx is diffierent in each computer. the range is from 1 to 254.

can you see each other in network neighborhood? do you have ‘shares’ created on each machine?

The main thing to consider is networking protocols. Each workstation requiring comms with another should have the same protocol on it.
If you are using TCP/IP have you go NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled. Be careful about naming your XP PCs, about 16 or more characters in the ComputerName and 95/98 based systems will not be able to recieve any services from them. Have you got File and Print sharing enabled on the PCs?-
