New TR Member DeLenn Rose arrived Saturday

By Jessie ·
Hi all! Did ya miss me? :)

DeLenn Rose L. popped out (literally) on Saturday night 7/9/05 at 8:07 pm after 2.5 hours of labor and one half-push. The sonogram LIED. She was actually quite small (for one of mine) at only 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. She also looks NOTHING like my other kiddos. She's got light brown hair and dark blue eyes (so far) and a little perfectly round head.

Came home at 8pm last night 7/11/05. We're all doing quite well. Her siblings all think she's just SO CUTE (as do I). I probably won't be able to get on a lot for a little while, but I'll try to catch up when I can.

Our London and Florida members have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you're all doing well.

Wow you did it again!

by Oz_Media In reply to New TR Member DeLenn Rose ...

Well done Jessie. All that talk about different ways to cope with labour and it sounds like it was actually a fairly easy delivery for you. Got them good birthing hips I suppose. (That's not supposed to be taken offensively, good birthing hips are cool..for a woman to have)

She is absolutely adorable! I know people always say that, even with the ugly ducklings, but she really is a cutie. Graduates in 2023 you say? I'll be 22 by then, we'll have to keep in touch! ]:)

So glad to hear all went well and that you are healthy, extend my congratulations to your hubby too, for all his hard work ( )from 'some guy on the internet'.

Rest up and enjoy your new family addition, we'll all be hanging around here like a bunch of dorky losers with no life when you are ready.

that within the next 2 years I meet someone and have no time to come on here anymore...

the bus can only run over ya so much before ya die.

Sorry, Oz...but...I don't know if I'll be online in a few years...the opting out for a simpler life looks more and more appealing after almost 25 years in front of computers now, and I still have another 30 til I can retire.

Christ...maybe I'll just fake my death and have some woman collect my benefits.

I was in Van last weekend

by Oz_Media In reply to I hope to God

Ws talking with a friend who's getting tired of running his own business, itchy feet and all that.

We were talking about how nice it would be to just disappear into a quite place in BC with no hustle and bustle, where people are real and life is easy.

As I was agreeing with him, he glared at me like I was an a**hole. I already have that in his eyes, I did in MY eyes too when I moved, but now I want even LESS.

Don't bother clearing the land, don't worry about building a new road (I can wear out a 4X4 or dirtbike trail to get to the house).

I want a 1/2 mile driveway about 3 hours away from the nearest hokey little food store/liquore store/ post office/library/daycare center/medical office...you get the picture.

IN BC there are many towns with one little SHACK built onto someone's MAIN shack that provides all these services at one place.

Living here is cool, but the more you explore, the more you want to just disappear into it's vast wilderness and just do your own thing. The carrot dangles 24/7 when you are looking at it and know what's out there all day.

to be honest

by jck In reply to I was in Van last weeken ...

I've thought about (if my house keeps getting worth more and more) selling out here, moving to Ireland on a temporary work permit, and working in a computer shop building PCs and programming for a living.

I've about decided...it's gonna be one of three places for me:

Ireland
Australia
Italy

I'd consider Spain, but I'm not sure where I'd go there.

If I go to Italy, I'm heading to Perugia or somewhere remote from Rome and Naples and all that.

If I go to Australia, I'd probably end up around Adelaide.

If I go to Ireland, I'll end up in the south near Tipp or Cork or Limerick.

Just tired of the "civilization" here in the USA. There are good people here, but none of them are involved in leadership roles. We vote on a the smile on a mouth and a handshake here...not the words coming out of the mouth or how hard the handshake is because the guy knows what work really is.

Anyways...rant off.

NAH Adelaide wouldn't work out at all

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to to be honest

They had to move the F1 race from there because the drivers kept falling asleep going down the main straight. Honestly!

Didn't you ever wonder why there where so many crashes at the first corner? There they where all worked up for the start and then asleep by the first corner all in under 3 seconds. On the next lap it was even worse.

Adelaide is called the "City of Churches" which is about right all thees nice buildings that no one actually bothers going to other than to look at them.

In Melbourne you get all 4 seasons in a day if you are lucky and more likely every single hour.

Sydney is just way too big and self important for their own good.

Darwin you would be permanently drunk as that is the norm. Probably suit you down to the ground.

Brisbane is just a laid back sleepy big town with delusions of grandeur as they knock down old heritage listed buildings in the middle of the night and then you wonder what's different as you drive past.

Cantberra is a man made place where we hide the Politicians and senior Bureaucrats so they don't cause us any problems.

Then poor old Perth nice place but in the middle of nowhere and has the services to match. It was only built as a port to export all of the gold that was discovered further inland as it was the closest harbor available at the time.

AU is really out for all of the above and what's even worse is that you have to fight like hell to get even a half way decent Internet connection.

But then there is always the fact that Darwin has the only beer sold in 2 liter bottles.

Col ]:)

Adelaide? not work?

by jck In reply to NAH Adelaide wouldn't wor ...

Hmm...erm...ok...if you say so.

I wasn't planning being right in Adelaide...somewhere out south...near Sellecks Beach or something...where a friend of mine lives.

Besides that, I have 4 friends (all women) who live down there...2 of them want their daughters to meet me, and all of them work with girls they want to introduce me to...and I hear, Australian women are not only very friendly but also very forward...always a good thing...being open and honest.

Nonetheless...yeah...I don't think I could live in Sydney...hate the idea of living in huge cities.

And as for 2 liter beer...I bet I could order some into Adelaide, or have anyone I knew up there bring some down when they visit :) hahahahaha
