NO IT, world comes to a stop within a month

By kujo1us ·
The world needs to understand that if IT went on strike then everything would just stop, no email, no access, not anything.
Unionizing would be the best thing to happen to IT if we could get our own Union, the Govt isnt going to protect us, they are happy keeping us as wage slaves, with a Union it is in their best interests to protect their members.

The idea that all people who are creative or otherwise necessary to society could prove their vital role by unifying and going on strike is a loopy fantasy. It's just a narcissistic exercise in power, which would never work.

IT workers are about as essential as cops, coal miners, and doctors. All of those professions have gone on strike from time to time, but civilization failed to stop.

A few nerds were out there doing their computational thing, in white lab coats no less, and their productivity was measurable in reams of paper with numbers printed on them. It had marginal impact on the rest of us.

I wonder how many times

by The Scummy One In reply to NO IT, world comes to a s ...

in the past few years I have seen a stupid f**king retarded thread started like this. You dumba$$, unionizing would make things worse, not better. Why not go through the TR search (if it works) and look up responses to all of those other pathetic POS threads.
what a waste of space -- want a union, go work in construction.

About twice a year.

This is the first time I've seen it combined with the "IT is indispensable" line of hooey as justification. Both notions are being greeted this time as they are usually treated around here: with total contempt.
