Not all Network Shares showing on Win98

By johnm ·
I recently install a Win98(2ndEdition) box on my WinNT4 Network. When I check Network Neighborhood, I see all of the computers on the network. But when I open up the 'Server Computer', not all of the 'Shares' are listed. There are about 12 'Shares' total, but 3 shares (of course the most important) are missings. I can't figure out any other way to 'map' a drive to the missing shares..

John:
Win98 can see network shares up to 20 characters in length. You can browse then in Explorer, even if they contain spaces. However, any share name longer than 20 characters will not show up in explorer.
You can map any share with a name length up to 20 characters in Explorer including spaces by typing in the complete path (i.e.: \\Cheetah\thiswillwork1234 567). However, if you are using the DOS based 'net use' command, you cannot map shares which include spaces in the name.

Hope this helps,

Regards.
