No other users can log on to this one NT4 workstation but the main user of the computer and administrator. Users who try to log on to this machine receive this error: The operating system was unable to load your profile. Please contact your Network Administrator. Looked on Microsoft's site and found some info regarding this but still have no solution......help......

I agree with the answer directly above...sometimes admins get overzealous and set the permissions too tight on the WinNT directory and subfolders. Hope this isn't the case, though.

go in as an administrator and verify that the c: drive has access to "everyone" and not just the administrator and the user of the machine (owner of files created)..

I had a problem similar to this recently and in that case, the problem turned out to be that someone had deleted the Default User profile so the operating system could create the new profile, but not populate it.

Something to take a look at, perhaps. But it also occurs to me that this problem could result from a system policy that, for whatever reason, was configured to apply to that workstation only.

regards!
