O2 XDA Executive Synchronisation & Wireless Lan Conflict

By matthew.leggett ·
Hello eeveryone! Well here i am again, stumped on what i find to be quite a testing problem!

Currently my O2 XDA Exec is provided with Microsoft's ActiveSync software, installed on my XDA and my laptop.

Now my laptop is conected to my wireless network using its built in wi-fi adaptor and is working fine.

If i connect my XDA using my usb cable the Activesync pops up synchronises but in the mean time causes my wireless network to dissconnect.

In my network connections a LAN connection appears under mobile device, my XDA. Now its ip settings are very much different to my wireless settings. For example my wireless network uses 192.168.x.x and this new network connection uses 165.11.x.x

This i presume is why my wireless network keeps dissconnecting as it is trying to have two connections of different ip addresses from the same laptop....?

All i am looking to do is connect my XDA through the usb port to synchronise my data, i don't understand why it requires a LAN conection to be created in its pressence?

Has anyone come across this problem before??? Is it the software or perhaps the XDA configuration?

Either way any input is much appreciated as at the moment my laptop is capable of only one task at a time! Oh dear!
