Once more with feeling Jason Hines...

By alfielee ·
Gizmodo have an article regarding netbooks:
Yes there is the Windows on the Eee-Pad but most of the netbooks run Linux. I believe this will gradually become the norm.

Laying all your bets on this, the apparent totality of your intellectual being -- you are past lost.

Retrench. Reconsider how it is that you are.

Why would I have all bets on this Santeewelding?

by alfielee In reply to Give it up, Alfie

My "intellectual being"? Now what would that be Mr Santeewelding? What do you know of my intellectual being?

Am I some idiot that knows nothing about tech & just makes comment for the **** of it?

Who are you to tell me what I should & shouldn't do? Why should you suddenly interfere just bcoz one or two of your mates made idiots of themselves? Why don't you mind your own business?

"iPad Isn't "Killing" Netbook Sales,"

by CharlieSpencer In reply to Another article from Slas ...

Who said it was? The article of Jason's you referenced earlier was written in November '09, at least five months before the iPad was released.

Dude, do you have a point? You called out Jason without telling us what what article you were referring to, confused the issue by dragged Linux into it, finally posted a link to a 'zombie' discussion that didn't include Linux, and now you've linked to an iPad article that has nothing to do with anything Jason wrote. Gods know Jason and I have butted heads on any number of topics, but if you're going to call him out, at least make your point clear. What exactly is YOUR position (not Jason's) regarding netbooks, iPads, and Linux; and why do you consider the linked articles as supporting your as yet unspecified premise?

Is this thing still alive?

by seanferd In reply to Once more with feeling Ja ...

And still no content.

What's it all about, Alfie? If you get anywhere near a point, make it.

Story so far: OP challenges author (by incorrect name)of article (with no reference to the actual article) with facts not in evidence about something which the author didn't even say.

Aside from exchanging barbs with forum members, there is no new content. Nothing to support his contention which isn't even clearly articulated. Not even an opinion or stated stance on the subject.

WTH? Say clearly what you think about Linux or whatever - that can actually be discussed. Or provide facts that Linux is going strong in netbook sales (to which iPads are entirely irrelevant). Or you can go ahead and prove Jason Hiner said that Linux is dead on netbooks (he has said similar about desktops). Pick one, mix and match , whatever.

1. Netbooks.
2. Linux.
3. Comparative data on Linux netbook availability or sales v. netbooks with a different OS.
4. Jason Hiner - respond to something he actually said, or recant drop that theme.
