Only in the circles of TR could a guy in Colorado hear about .......

....... another guy in Australia who's (presumably) passed on: Jules, or jardinier - aka Julian Hancock, of Sidney Australia.

He was certainly one of my most, shall I say, interesting adversaries back in the Golden Age of the TR Water Cooler; but he was also, in many ways, one of my biggest supporters - encourager might be a better way to put it. Very few have encouraged me to follow an unlikely passion like Julian did.

However, being less than 100 percent certain about my assumption that Julian has indeed passed away, perhaps Julian will post a message putting egg all over my face. We'd both get a good laugh, I'm sure.

But I wish I would have sent him that original 1963 Bob Dylan record album that I told him I'd send. At first, I couldn't find it among my collection of thousands, and then, as time went by, the thought slipped away.

So, here's to you, Julian:

The Golden Age of the TR Water Cooler. I like that.

I've had no fewer than a half dozen discussions mysteriously disappear or fail to even post in the first place. No reasons have been provided, even though the question has been asked; in fact, they ran away from the question (my interpretation).

..... SIX or MORE discussions either hidden from public view or totally erased. It might even be close to a dozen, because a few months ago when it happened, I started several discussions, one after another, just to watch them not appear anywhere. (Or should I say, so I could not watch them not appear anywhere?) And it's not a "numbers game", so to speak, because I don't post to that many discussions any more.

I do know this. It never happened in the Golden Days of the TR Water Cooler.

If it was a technical problem, it wouldn't just be happening with your posts. It also has nothing to do with the content of the thread.

It's not me.

But from past experience I have noticed TR is none too stable any longer and is often recovered from a Backup at which point everything that has been posted since the last backup/snapshot just disappears off the lists.

Happens every week with my TR Questions of the Week if that's any help.

Though if you know the name of the discussion Google is very good at finding it on TR. Sort of points out that the TR Search Function is still not the best. :^0
