PC freezes in Windows or BIOS

By twuf ·
Have a Win98 700mhz AMD Athlon K7sem mobo w/Award Bios. Took it to work to use DSL line to download Windows Updates etc.Has no viruses. Brought it home and hooked up again and computer freezes while in Windows or if I go into the bios or if i try and use DOS troubleshooting utilites like Check It or Microscope. I booted up in Safe Mode and ran scandisk> it froze during the scan. Tested ok: Power supply, RAM, hard drive, CMOS battery. Removed adapters cards (modem, network card). Still freezes when it chooses. When i was bringing it home I did not tie it down properly. When i turned corner it slid across trunk area and bumped against door lightly. Could this cause motherboard to defect? If harddrive tests okay and everything is connected securely, what now? Computer has continuing problems with power management too. Have to leave it in Alway On, Never shutdown. (BIOS config is same as when i originally built the machine and it worked fine then!)
