Turn off the ability to enter Stand By from Windows Power Settings

by OH Smeg In reply to Pc Stansby

That of course is providing that you are using some form of Windows as an Operating System.

If you are using something else post back and someone will be able to direct you to the solution.

But if you are using Windows this is set by Default to save the Monitor and HDD's.

Power Settings on Windows 7

by bobc4012 In reply to Pc Stansby

Power Settings on Windows 7 is accessed from the Control Panel. Click on the "Start" button, then click on Control Panel. You will see the "Power Options". Click on it. You will see some options on the left. You can create a "custom power plan". If you make a mistake or want to select different time frames, you can "change the plan". I set the time frame for "hibernate" to a large value, e.g., 3000 minutes is 50 hours before it goes into hibernate - I log off before 50 hours - so it never hibernates.
