Pink Ribbon Part Deux

By Tig2 ·

I was asked to post pictures. After spending most of a week sorting through the 2 Gig of photos that my partner took and the 3 or 4 that I managed to take, I have finally gotten them posted and accessible. To view, go to

Incidentally, I'm the redhead...

Edited so that I don't look quite so moronic... Spell checker please!

Longer hair... Check

by Tig2 In reply to Great Pictures Tig

I had it cut the day before thinking that it wouldn't have time to grow too long and be a bother. I used to wear it quite long so this was a bit new for me.

I will experiment and see if I can't find a way to keep it over my ears. Since the visor keeps it out of my eyes, I should be able to find a way that works.

I am rather surprised that you hadn't long ago assumed that I am a redhead. I think I am reasonably tempered for a redhead. Ish.

JD, I know where you live

by Tig2 In reply to Calibrate that scale

And you aren't far enough away...

I'm more reasonable than many, as reasonable as most, less than some.

Ducking will not save you... Ask me about my new rubber duckies!

Need some inspiration

by JamesRL In reply to Pink Ribbon Part Deux

There was a story I heard on CBC radio last night on the drive home regarding a man from Mississippi who ran a Marathon a day for 50 days in 50 states.

He wanted to do races, but couldn't find enough of them, so he entered races where he could, and just ran the distance where he couldn't.

His post race regime, when he could manage to co-ordinate it, was a 20 minute massage, followed by a 20 minute soak in an ice bath. The ice bath was more difficult for him than running the distance (he is an ultra marathoner) but it apparently helped him in recovery.

Very cool!

We had a guy who was registered to walk every 3 Day- all 12 of them. He has completed 4 cities so far. I have no doubt that he will make it.

While I never went as far as an ice bath, I did discover that after a long walk, ice to my legs was a wonderful thing. We got dish towels and soaked them and kept them in the ice chest.

I don't know how the marathoners do it. Walking 20 miles was a challenge. I don't think I could have run it.

Thanks for the link!
