Prevent Domain Members get IP Configuration from unauthorized DHCP Server

By mah_alh14 ·
Hi everyone,

There is a company that has two separate networks, Internal LAN and Internet LAN, the company has a policies, which prevent any user of the Internal LAN access to Internet Resources, and other policies allow the Internet LAN to be open for any desktops and laptops (of salesmen, guests ?) PCs.

The problem is when any user plugs in a cable from the Internet LAN to a PC from the Internal LAN; the PC gets the IP Configuration from the DHCP Server of Internet LAN, so he can access Internet Resources.

Please inform me, if there any configuration in the domain's group policy of Internal LAN, that must set, to prevent PCs to get IP Configuration except from specified DHCP Server of their domain, or if there any other way to solve this problem.

Best regards.

Specify gateway address

If you configure each internal lan computer with default gateway address of the switch/router or DHCP server they are supposed to be connected to, they will keep looking for that IP address wherever you connect them to and will not receive an IP address from any other DHCP server
