Printers dissappearing from Control Pane

By fleon ·
When Using Windows98 and Outlook 98 sometimes the Outlook application hang up and requires closing the application. This causes Printers defined in Control Panel to dissappear too. The solution this is reboot the machine. Does someone has a suggestion on what could be causing the printers to not be available any more? Thanks

When this happens are you attempting to print?
This is usually caused by a "spool32 error".
Once this error occurs all devices listed in the Printers window become unavailable until a system restart has occured.
I would recommend updating to the latest drivers for your printer. If this does not correct the problem try setting the printer properties to "print directly to printer".
