Problem with communication from computer

By amhiggs ·
Hello, my problem is my computer got shut down by accident with windows 98 up and my panasonic kx-p1124i printer open. The only thing that seems that happened was my printer keeps saying their is a time out error. I went and thought I'd increased mytimeout settings but so far it keeps saying the same thing. And it won't print my document. I'd appreciate all the help you can give me. I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,
Mary Higgs

Try cutting your printer off for about
one minute. Next close the document that you're trying to print.
Cut the printer back on, and try opening
and printing the appropriate document.
This has worked in the past, I hope this works for you.

Delete the curent print job. Shut the PC completely off. Turn it back on. Try printing again this time a different document. If this prints try the first documnet again. If this will not print then you know the document is corrupted. If you do need to remove the printer before readding do a complete shut down of the PC. This will reset all the hardware configuration information. With some printers Windows 98 will see it attached and do the reinstall for you. This is good for those who are not real familiar with adding hardware. This has never failed me yet. Also I agree with the person who said make sure to answer yes when asked to remove items pertaining to the printer. This will give you a clean starting point for reinstallation.

I would first look to see if there is a print document in the print queue. Especially over a network, sometimes a document can hang up during printing, holding up other documents

Reinstall the printer driver, first delete the present driver first.
