That should be 5 partitions

by jtapp In reply to 4 Partitions

I have only 10GB so I don't have as many options. ;-}

It really depends.

Many ways can be best depending on the user, hardware, applications, personal preferences, data, BU plan etc. ad nauseum.

It all depends on what you want. I've got the same setup on my laptop (assuming you're referring to W2K Pro), and just run it with one partition, which works better for me. In fact, all W/S setups I do at work with W2K are with only a single partition. Servers are another matter, where partitions are really needed. But all this is just my opinion, based on my uses and environment. You've got to look at your own needs. W2K Pro handles a single partition fairly well with its disk managementtools. So just decide what you need to do.

BTW - If you do decide to partition, I wouldn't go less than 4GB on the primary partition.

make 2 partion, 10G each

by tjyuxin In reply to Proper partioning of hard ...

if you are running win2000 pro,make sure you have ta least 5GB hard disk space for you system drive, then partion other space whatever you want.but you are running win2000 server versions(server, adv server)
10Gb is needed for system drive. so 10 GB each is a good idea.
