AT&T Research Labs in Cambridge have come up with a solution for you. Check out the site for VNC at www.uk.research.att.com/vnc

VNC is a remote control and viewing application that can control any operating system from any other operating systemacross any protocols. I use it from NT workstation to keep an eye on users.

The application is free to use and not subject to licensing. It was developed by Oracle (you know, the massive database people) and is a serious piece of kit.

I suggest you try it for yourself, you will find it very useful.
