SanDisk U3 cruzer password entering

By edvardas ·
Hello, my question is about entering a security password on my u3.

I`ve locked my u3 cruizer with password (i know that password), closed u3 software, logged out and restarted pc. Now I connected my USB flash and no autorun is in my u3 cruizer. And i dont know how to enter the password to unlock this drive. Autorun is not working (I`ve cleared all the data before entering the password). Where should i search for the soft for windows XP? Or what should i do for entering the password.
I`ve tried to format this empty, pasword protected flash, but it is telling that there is no disc in drive j. So i dont know what to do next.

OK, did you just install any updates?

Find the drive in Explorer. Right-click the drive icon, and enable Autorun for the U3 app.

SanDisk U3 and other USB autorun issues

by tony.davis In reply to SanDisk U3 cruzer passwor ...

FYI: this kind of thing has been happening recently due to certain MS patches:
I had a similar issue, where the DESKTOP (XP) would not run the U3 software, but the LAPTOP (also XP) would run fine. I suspect that MS patches 950582, 967715, or update 953252 have affected the way that the HonorAutoRunSetting in the registry is interpreted. The laptop had an extra REG_DWORD key of NoDriveTypeAutoRun, with a HEX value of 0x000000dd(221). This is at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
When I added this to the DESKTOP and rebooted - I inserted the U3 CRUZER - all fine and back to normal. TD1947
