SM Bus Controller

By yaronlev ·
I bought a Lenovo 3000 c200 which came with Vista Basic. I removed Vista and installed XP. After downloading and installing all the relevant drivers I could find in Lenovo's site I still get a question mark near the SM Bus Controller and my mouse pointer keeps freezing.

I have;
Lenovo 3000 c200 8922

Thank you very much,

Hi there - did you have any luck resolvig this issue? I have the same system and have done the same thing and there are plenty of things not-working, like the sound as well.
Anyway if you can shed some light I would be grateful

Solved for a similar model...

by keme6206 In reply to SM Bus Controller

I have one Lenovo 3000N200-769, for which I downloaded and installed all drivers, software and firmware indicated on the Lenovo support site. Everything looked OK except for that "SM-bus controller" driver error.

I got some tips elsewhere indicating missing links in the Lenovo support site, so I selected a different model (the ...-687) and found "Intel chipset support 6".

Downloaded, unpacked and installed that, which gave me 8 USB ports with faulty driver in the device manager. Deleted those USB entries and started a search for new devices, and the USBs (and everything else) came up OK and seems to be working flawlessly. (Well, the fingerprint scanner is useless, but I'd wish it weren't there at all, so I guess all is well.)
