Small Network prob.

By deezel_boy ·
OK, I have a small network being built in our office. It consists of an NT WS 4.0 machine and two 98 machines.

Here's what I got:

Everything is installed and configured, but I'm still having one
problem with the 98 machine.

From my, the NTWS 4, machine it looks as if the network is working
fine when I open the network neighborhood I can see myself, jstamey,
and the other workstation, dbookman, as well, but at the other WS, the
98 machine, when I open the net neighborhood and clickon entire
network it says "unable to browse network, the network is not
accessible, for more info......"

I don't know what the prob. is! The NIC's have a diagnostic module and
the network connection test completes successfully!

Here's what I have for the network properties for both machines:

The 98 machine:

Client for MS networks
MS family logon
netBEUI- 3com etherlink 10/100 PCI
TCP/IP- 3com etherlink 10/100 PCI
TCP/IP- Dial-up adapter
file and print sharing for MS networks

Comp name dbookman
description dbookman

Access control

share level access control

And here's what I have for the NT machine

Comp name JSTAMEY

3com diagnostic module
computer browser
netBIOS interface
RPC configuration

3com etherlink 10/100 PCI NIC

I have dbookman set up with administrator rights in the user manager, that PC is also a member of guests, power users, and users.

Now I'm at the end of my line....I don't know what else to do!! Why won't this 98 machine recognize the network??????? Any
help would be much greatly helpful!!!!!!

Thank you!

If you need any favors, I'm here!!!
I can get great deals on about 6000 different types of prints!

Thanks again!
