Software problem and domain

By grh ·
Hello learned ones. I have a problem (don't we all) with some software that is not there until the workstations log onto the domain. This software is an access based program with a delphi frontend. When you log in locally it all works but when you log onto the domain parts of it, notably printing parts don't. As this is a new win2k3R2 server that has been installed - it was all on NT4sp6 before, no probs - the group policy is the default. I have trawled through this but cannot see anything amiss (I might add here that I am self-taught-still-learning this behmoth). Has anyone any idea why this might be going on. What am I missing/not doing. Thank you.

Little bit confusing

Instinct points to a rights or permissions issue.
Does the Domain User have print rights and has the printer been installed in this profile?
The next area to check may be permissions on the Temp folder, the Database (or Delphi) folder, and or parts of the Windows directory.
You may want to check the Event Logs for clues. You could also temporarily make the Domain User account a part of the local administrators group to test the permissions side of things.

Thanks, I will give those pointers a whirl and see what happens, but other parts of the program will print OK - invoices will print as they should but in another screen - 'Job cards' it won't print, the print dialogue refuses to appear. There is something odd going on as Faxmaker - which is still running on the NT4 machine that is not part of the domain and running as a mapped drive for this purpose for the time being - will not display the faxes on the client machines when they are logged in to the domain, they just show a blank display page, but, if you right click the fax in the 'IN BOX'and choose details it will display the fax correctly. BUT, if you just log in locally and attach by mapped drives I don't get any of these problems.
