Startup problems

By foxy2_angel ·
Hello, I wanted to know if someone could give me some advice on how to recover from a warm reboot. My Win98 SE computer crashed a few weeks ago, and it hangs whenever it goes through a warm reboot. I was told that MS has some kind of patch for this, but I'm having difficulty finding it. I'm just tired of constantly having to shut down and doing a cold reboot. Please help!
Thanks.
Diane

foxy2qt,

In my first answer, the second url should be: 'http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q186/9/25.asp'. No space between asp.

Another MS url is: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q239/8/87.ASP. This page does not mention you problem specificly, but trouble with the shutdown process.

I will continue to look for you prblem, but check these 2 pages out.

I also copies & pasted the url's from this comment section, and went to the MS web page.

Since that question is so old, and you rejected all those answers, why don't you just close your question?

My question may be old, but no one has come up with a solution to it. That is why it has been here for so long, but if you think it should be closed, then so be it!

I just wanted to know why I lost points for closing my question, since nobody could answer my question? I thought I could get my points back, but I'm not sure if I went through the correct process to withdraw the question.
