STOP 0x00000050 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA)

By roy.soumya123 ·
Hi,

Recently, I installed a dialer software for USB modem for net surfing. I used the net and after PC restart I am getting blue screen with this error "STOP 0x00000050 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA)". I uninstalled the software, but in vain. Then I did system restore to earlier point. It worked for 2 days, but now again I am getting the error.
Pls help.

thanks.
Roy

I'll give it a go

Roy, and I've been thinking about your problem and I think that it's a Device Driver issue.

Can you send me your MiniDumps? PM me and I'll provide an address.

Minidump Files can be found here. C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

If there are no MiniDump files do this for me.

Press the WinKey + Pause
Click Advanced and under Startup and Recovery select Settings.
Uncheck Automatically restart.
Click on the dropdown arrow under Write debugging information.
Select Small memory dump (64 KB) and the output is %SystemRoot%\Minidump.
Restart the PC normally as this will allow the System to Blue Screen and create the Minidump.

A few thoughts

See if you can download and run MCPR.exe to remove any remnents of mcafee.

Download the removal tool from:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

After the infection it seems that you might be experiencing a few major problems. I personally would suggest Backing up your System and doing a complete wipe of the System with DBAN.

Darik's Boot and Nuke

Autonuke should do it by running it at least 3 times.

Recreate your Partitions as you Reinstall a new and fully operational System.

Hi Jacky,

I can see the dump file. Pls tell me how to send those.

Btw, MCPR.exe did not help :-(.
And what does Darik's Boot and Nuke do?

Thanks.

How to Use Driver Verifier to Troubleshoot Windows Drivers

Roy I am going to need a copy of the MiniDump files to analyze the root of the problem. Use WinRar to compress them and send them to the email address that I supplied as an attachment.

DBAN will completely wipe the drive and remove all information. We will use it as a last resort if your hard drive passes a fitness test.

One step at a time and we will see if we can get to the bottom of the problem.

Try this

by Jacky Howe In reply to STOP 0x00000050 (PAGE_FAU ...

Follow the steps in this article and remove everything that that appears translucent or faded.

Get rid of old device drivers it works for XP as well.

http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=867

fldevice.sys is the main culprit here.
