strange email-receipt

By europanorama ·
i received two identical mails within one day from an unknown person but in both of them the "to:"-adress was not mine but from a third unknow person. i have found this hotmail.com-adress in a guestbook of an other photographer(i am photographer). i have a hotmail.com-adress but this one was not affected. i even do not have an entry in the guestbook, not in that section but in another.
are my coming-in-messages being watched of hacked?

Sounds more like a scam to me. Have they asked you for money? Such as: "Our funds are tied up and we cannot access them. You can help, for a percentage of our funds please send a small security deposit."
And of course you would never get the percentage!
I wouldn't even respond, just delete anything with an unknown address when it arrives. Especially AOL, hotmail and yahoo.

Check out myrealbox.com (Novell Net Mail, pared down GroupWise) for a good free e-mail.

It could be Klez virus, which spreads via emails. If your computer is behaving strangely then I suggest you scan your system using updated virus scan software installed in your system. Also, you could visit the following website for free online virus check:

Try Spam Punisher to find the spammer's ISP.
You can then generate and send a complaint with this program, and if the Internet Service Provider receives a complaint he usually closes internet access to the spammer.

Web site for Spam Punisher: http://www.spampunisher.com/

Spammers have figured out ways to dump to
a isp and have a copy distributed through out
their email subscription list.

Most of the good isp's are installing blocking
software to combat this
